Digital Audio Workstations are wonderful to work with, but there is so much more to the modern digital studio than just a computer, an interface and a few plug-ins. What about that tried and true outboard reverb, or that vintage keyboard you use on every track?
We don’t think it’s necessary to subject the output of these devices to unnecessary A/D/A conversions, so we created the Dangerous MIXER: the 8x2 analog summing mixer, designed specifically for integrating analog devices in the digital audio environment.
Keep your trusted outboard gear in the mix
Integrate virtual MIDI into your DAW mix
Full-scale analog console performance in 2RUs
Seamless integration with the Dangerous 2-BUS
Hand built with top-of-the-line components
Stepped attenuator output control
Incredibly clean and quiet
The Dangerous MIXER is an 8x2 line-source mixer designed to help users of digital audio workstations achieve better mixes through the proper integration of hardware synths, multi-effects and outboard gear into their digital system. As engineers and musicians, the Dangerous team and their colleagues have noted that analog outboard gear is often run through unnecessary and detrimental A/D/A conversions just to enable it to be leveled, panned and placed within a mix. Dangerous MIXER enables any MIDI device, outboard reverb or multi-effects unit, mic preamp — virtually any line-level source — to be integrated into a mix alongside digital audio tracks. The Dangerous MIXER is also ideal for sub-mixing outputs of external mic preamps while tracking.
Assembled by hand using the highest quality components, Dangerous MIXER allows users to keep their analog devices in a pristine analog environment, and preserves their sonic integrity throughout the mixing process.
With 8 inputs providing level control, panning, muting and phase reverse, the Dangerous MIXER delivers sonic quality you would expect from a full scale analog console, but from a compact 2RU device that was specifically designed for the professional digital studio.
The Dangerous MIXER is also a great alternative to the Dangerous 2-BUS for those who want external summing of their DAW mixes but only need 8 channels or would like to be able to keep level and pan control in the analog domain.
